Derek Darlington
Trustee
Derek has forty two years teaching experience in the secondary sector and has had involvement at senior leadership level. Recently retired he supports a local nursery as treasurer.
He was also a Governor for seventeen years in two different schools/local authorities. He was chair of governors at one of the MAT schools which received an award by the Local Authority in 2018 for Governing Body of the Year. He has a comprehensive CPD portfolio in Governance and was recently (March 2019) awarded a certificate as a Governance Leader by the Confederation of School Trusts.
As a trustee Derek would use his expertise in school improvement to ensure all schools in the MAT deliver a high quality educational experience where inspirational teaching for aspirational learners is the norm.
